Things you’ll need:
- Black tea
- Large tapioca pearls
- Milk
- Ice
- Sweetener
- Fresh fruit, optional
- Cocktail or gravy shaker
- Thick straws
Preparation:
Step 1: Make a pot of regular tea.
Just boil the tea as you normally do and then use sugar or honey to sweeten it. Place inside the refrigerator until well chilled.
Step 2: Add in the Tapioca Pearls.
Boil water. One cup of tapioca pearls needs two cups of water, so the more you add more tapioca pearls the more water you will need. At this point the pearls are supposed to float, stir them if the stick to the bottom of the pan and then allow it cook until the texture becomes chewy or like a bubble gum.
Step 3: Continue cooking.
Let the tapioca cook for twenty five minutes before removing from heat and then set it aside for twenty five minutes more.
Step 4: Fix them together and shake.
Remove the tapioca and then wash them in warm water and then place the pearls into the tea cups or glasses for serving and then into the food blender, pour one part tea and then one part milk and a tbsp of ice and then process it until smooth and well blended.
Step 5: Pour in the tea
Pour the blended tea into the serving glass with tapioca pearls and then add in more pearls on top. Add in the straw and then serve and enjoy!
